Will there be more stoned drivers on the road in Atlanta?

NPR ran a piece on All Things Considered recently about driving while high.
They ran into some opponents of Prop 19 trying to show that once the measure passes there will be a lot more stoned drivers, leading to injuries and deaths. They had set up some road cones and gotten volunteers to drive a short obstacle course while straight, and then again, after a few hits of (legal) medical marijuana.
Of course, it was an unscientific experiment that could be spun either way.

I  listen to NPR pretty regularly, and they keep getting more conservative.  They used to get sweet government money, but now they rely on giant insurance companies and the Chubb Group, whoever that is (update: it's an insurance company). The NPR reporters failed to draw any strong conclusions, but they did cite to 3-4 inconsistent legit studies about driving under the influence of weed.

In truth, the science is sketchy, but you shouldn't drive high. We all knew that.  My point, however, is that the NPR piece should have been written by someone with a little more, ahem, experience. Because then it wouldn't have missed these OBVIOUS facts:

1. Legalizing weed in California is not going to increase the number of pot smokers. Everybody out there who feels like getting high has easy access to weed 24-7. The number of DUI drugs cases will not increase unless the cops start looking for more cases just to try and prove a point.
