Justice Scalia advises everyone to say "'Oh, heck, no, you can't come in; do you have a warrant?" if the police knock on your door and ask to come in. Why would he advise that? Because your friendly local police officers are tired of knocking on doors only to hear the people inside suddenly flush toilets instead of calling out a neighborly "Come in, please!" The police are afraid that their presence inspires people whom they suspect are partaking in illegal activities to get rid of evidence. So they are asking the SURPREME COURT to allow them to enter houses without warrants. And the supreme court is actually listening to them. Several justices even think that as long as the police reasonably suspect something illegal is going on and do not use deception or illegal means to gain entry, the search probably doesn't violate the Constitution. WHAT? Are you kidding me? I'll keep you posted: a decision is expected this summer. So folks, whether you are doing something illegal or not, do not allow the police to search you, yourself, or your car without a warrant. It is your right. Make sure you use it. Make sure you keep it. Atlanta DUI Lawyers Clark & Towne We're on the big three social networking sites and now You Tube too!
