What happens if you DON'T get your Georgia license back?

I got a panicked call from the adult kid of a former client.  He got a DUI in Gwinnett County and didn't hire a Clark & Towne lawyer.  Then, he lost his administrative license hearing. His mom put him in touch with me. And this is what I told him.

So you got an Atlanta-area DUI and didn't hire a Clark & Towne DUI lawyer, and you:

• lost the administrative license suspension hearing and 
• took a test and
• you're over 21 and
• you've never had a previous administrative license suspension for a DUI?

Don't despair!

Go to your nearest Atlanta metro-area DDS office and apply for a work permit. 

That's right, even though your criminal case is still pending, you don't have to worry about driving around (unless you don't go and get the work permit).

If your lawyer told you that your license is suspended, get a second opinion (even if you have to pay a lawyer for that case review) or ask politely at DDS if you're eligible for that permit.

And fire that attorney who obviously doesn't know the law.
